1962

Ling Junwu  凌君武  was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, in China. .

 

His family is from Shaoxing.

   

1986

He graduated from Nanjing Normal University.

 

( Fine Arts department )

 

 

1995

He continued his studies at the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.

 

( printmaking department )

 

 

1998

At the end of his post-graduate studies, he taught as a professor at the C.A.F.A.

 

in Beijing, but his birthplace, his source of inspiration, missed him.

   
 

He moved to live and work in Suzhou  China.

   

2014

Depressed, he committed suicide on 10 January, at the age of 52.

Sugiu aux six mille ponts de pierre.Terre dont l'écho porte jusqu'à Venise.

 

Pierres sauvages du Zhuozheng yuan et du Shizi lin.

 

Tuiles grises. Crépis blanc des murs.

 

Pavillons. Kiosques aux bois peints.

 

Végétation foisonnante qui couvre, tisse, anime ses gravures : Jinwu nous rassure.

 

La Chine rêvée est là, encore. Et ses dix mille êtres, vivants, apaisés, endormis.
