Qiu Zhijie 邱志杰 was born in Zhangzhou,  Fujian province, China.

Even as a child, he learnt  calligraphy..

He began his series well-known Tattoo ( chinese characters on his own body ).

 2003

He taught in the Total Art  studio of the C.A.A.

He took part in the Venice Biennial  twice : 2009 and 2013.

He was the chief curators for the Shanghai Biennial..

He lives and works in Beijing and Hangzhou  China.
