Zhu Qizhan 朱屺瞻 was born on May 27, in a family of
wealthy merchants ,

in Taicang, Jiangsu province, China.

In his childhood, he
studied poetry, painting and calligraphy.

He enrolled at the
Shanghai Meizhuan to study oil painting.
|
|
|
|
He taught
at Shanghai Meizhuan.
|
|
He studied two years in Japan directed by Lin Tonghua.
|
|
|
1920/1930
|
He participated in
numerous exhibitions.

|
|
1956
|
He joined the
Chinese Academy of Painting which has just opened.
|
|
|
1982
|
He became professor
at the Chinese Academy of Painting in Shanghai.

|
|
1995
|
A
museum dedicated to his work opened in Shanghai with his
collaboration.

1996

He
died at 105 years old.

major retrospective was organized by the Shanghai Museum and the
