1955

Chen Zhen was born in a family of doctors, in Shanghai, China.

   

1973

He joined the Fine Arts School of Shanghai for three years.
   

1976

He taught at the Fine Arts School of Shanghai

   

1978

He continued his studies at the Institute Theatre of Shanghai, (  scenic art section ).
   

1980

He suffered from an incurable anemia.
   

1982

He was appointed teacher at the Institute Theatre of Shanghai.

   

France


   

1986

He spent three monts in Tibet and he moved to France, in Paris.
 

He joined the E.N.S.A.

   

1989

He studied at the Institute for Advancied Studies in Fine Arts in Paris.

   

1995

After teaching at Institute for Advancied Studies in Fine Arts in Paris,

 

he moved to Nancy where he taught at the E.S.B.A. four years.

   

2000

He died on December 13 th .

 

He buried in the  Père-Lachaise Cemetery, 28th division.

 

The same year, a memorial exhibition of Chen Zhen's work was shown
at the he Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.
