1949

Su Xiaobai  苏笑柏 was born in Wuhan, Hubei Province  China.

1965

He studied for four years at the School of Arts and Crafts in Wuhan.

1969

He graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts in Wuhan.

1985

After having been a painter at the Wuhan Institute of Painting, then

at the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts ( Oil painting Department ), he entered

The Central Academy of Fine Arts  ( Oil painting Department ) in Beijing,

for further training.

1987

He graduated from C.A.F.A Beijing.

Thanks to a scholarship, he continued his studies in Germany,   

at the Academy of Fine Arts, in Düsseldorf.

He learned a lot from his teachers : Konrad Klapheck, Gerard Richter,  

Markus Lupertz .

2002

He returned to Beijing and brought the lacquer in his works.

He lives and works in Shanghai  China.
