Hu Wei 胡伟 was born in Ji Nan, Shandong Province, China.

He studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts of China.

After graduating with a Bachelor's degree, he began teaching there.

He went to Japan to compare, with the President of the Tokyo University of the Arts,

the modes of conservation and restoration of Chinese and Japanese Arts.

He graduated with a Master's degree in Fine Arts, from the Tokyo University of Arts.

|
1995
|
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United States,

a major exhibition of his works was organized at the headquarters of U.N.E.S.C.O.
|
| |
|
|
1996
|
He obtained a Doctorate of Fine Arts from the Tokyo University of Arts.

|
2010

He was appointed Deputy curator of the National Art Museum of China.
|

|
|
He participated in numerous artistic projects including the design of the opening

and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games.

He is a Professor at the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts, and thesis Director,
