Zhang Wanchuan 張萬傳 ( 1909-2004 ) was born in Taipei Taiwan. |

1924 |
Graduated from one year high school program, he joined Taiwan Watercolor |
|
Society, then theTaiwanese Art Institute. |
|
|
1930 |
He went to study in Japan, at Tokyo Kawabata Institute. |
|
1936 |
He joined the Taiyang Art Association and participated to the exhibitions. |
|
1938 |
With Hung Rui-Lin, Chen Te-Wang, Lu Chi-Cheng, Chen Chun-Te, and Huang Ching-Cheng, |
|
he organized the Mouve Artist Society. |
|
|
He participated in the first and the second Taiwan Government Fine Art Exhibition. |
|
|
1948 |
He taught Art in Datong High School, then in the National Taiwan University. |
|
|
He left the teaching to travel. |
|
1975/1976 |
In Europe : Paris, Madrid, Roma, Venice. |
|
1979/1985 |
In Japan, United States and Mexico. |
|
1997 |
The Taipei Fin Arts Museum organized a large retrospective of his works. |
|
2003 |
He passed away at the age of 95, on January 12. |
