Szeto Lap  司徒立  pinyin Situ Li

1949

Szeto Lap  司 徒立 was born on September 18 in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province,

China.

1972

He moved to Hong Kong.

1975

He went to study in France and joined the University Paris VII.

1979

First exhibition at l'Oeil Sévigné gallery, in Paris.

1982

In Situ The Modern Art Museum Pompidou Center Paris, presented twenty of his works.

He won the Feneon Prize.

1983

He participated in the traveling exhibition Drawing of Figurative Expression organized by

the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris.

1992 / 2001

Back in China, he hosted several lectures series on French Contemporary Art.

2001

He was appointed professor, tutor of the PhD programme, at the China Academy

of Fine Arts, in Hangzhou.

2002

He was guest professor at the Shanghai University.

2003/2004

Touring exhibitions were held in 5 National Museums in China :

The National Art Museum of China, Shanghai Art Museum, the China Academy

of Art Museum, Guangdong Museum of Art, the University Museum and Art Gallery

Hong Kong.

2004

He was awarded, on 29.06, Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, ( knight of the Order

of Arts and Letters ) for his artistic and cultural contribution to France, by the President

of the French Republic.

His works are in the Collections of Georges Pompidou Centre and Modern Art Museum,

in Paris  France.
