Shen Chen 沈忱 was born in Shanghai China.

After high school, he entered the Shanghai Art College.
|
|
1982
|
He received his Bachelor's degree in Art, from the Shanghai Theatre Academy,

and he moved to Beijing.
|
|
|
|
|
1988
|
He obtained an artist's residency at the School of Painting and Sculpture
|
| |
in Skowhegan United States.
|
| |
|
|
1989
|
He continued his studies, thanks to a Master's scholarship, in Boston.
|
|
|
|
| |
A pioneer in abstract painting, using traditional brushes, he applied colour
|
|
|
by superposition, vertically, always from top to bottom.
|
| |
|
|
|
He lives and works in New York United States.
|
