Jiang Bibo was born in Guizhou. Her family was native of Ningbo, in Zhejiang

Province, in China.

Her father, Jiang Mi 江敉, a popular painter and wood engraver, gave her, very soon,
|
|
the love of painting. |

She studied at The Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, in Chongqing.
|

Graduated, she began teaching painting there. |

|
1979

She visited Japan. |
|
|
1984
|
She visited East Germany, representing China at the international woodblock
|
|
Printmaking Conference and exhibition.
|
|

1985

Visiting Professor at the Portland Museum and at the Oregon University of Fine Arts

she held Solo exhibitions in several cities in The United Sates and Canada. |

1986

Invited to the Ontario College as artist in residence, she created a new series. |

She uses various techniques to make traditional paintings, oil paintings,
|
|
engravings, sculptures.

Her subjects are minority peoples and their variety of customs and different lifestyles. |

She won The First National Best Award Of Urban Sculpture.
