Hu Chi-Chung 胡奇中 pinyin Hu Qizhong

Hu Chi-Chung ( 1927-2012 ) was born on January 27, in Song Yan Cun village,
|

in Zhejiang Province, China.
|
|
|
|
|
1950
|
Enlisted in the National Marine Corps, he moved to Taiwan and began to paint.
|
| |
|
|
1954
|
He travelled to the United States and discovered Impressionism and Abstract Art.
|
| |
|
|
1956
|
First personal exhibition in Kaoshiung.
|
|
|
In order to promote Modern Art, he founded Four Seas Artists Association,
|
| |
with another artist Fong Chung-Ray.
|
| |
|
| |
He made himself known with his technique of integrating sand into his oil paintings.
|
| |
|
|
1959
|
He participated in The First Biennale of Paris, in Modern Art Museum, Paris France. |
| |
and the 5th Biennial of Sao Paolo in Modern Art Museum, Sao Palo Brazil.
|
| |
|
|
1961
|
He joined the Fifth Moon group at the forefront of the Modern Art movement
|
|
|
and participated in the exhibitions. |

1970
|
He moved to the United States and settled in San Francisco then to Carmel, California.
|

|
| |
He participated in numerous exhibitions in Australia, China, Japan, United States.
|
| |
|
|
2012

He passed away on October 27, at the age of 85. |
