Aric Chen  陳伯康  was born in the United States.  

   
 

He studied at the University of California, Berkeley.

 

Graduated with a Bachelor in Architecture and a Bachelor in Anthropology,  he continued

 

his studies in New York, at the Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and obtained

 

a Master's degree in History of Design.

   
 

He published critical articles in The New York Times, Wallpaper, Metropolis, Fast Company,

 

GQ, Monocle, Architectural Record, PIN-UP.

   
 

He contributed to international exhibitions :

2004

International Design Biennial Saint-Étienne  France  ( with Laetitia Wolf )

  Design Fair  Shanghai  China  ( withTobias Wong )
   

2010

He moved to Beijing  China.
 

He was appointed Creative Director of the Festival : Beijing Design Week.

   

2012

Appointed Curator of Design and Architecture at M +, the future new Museum located

 

in West Kowloon in Hong Kong, where he was in charge of developing the permanent

 

collection of Design and Architecture of the 20th and 21st century.

   

2017

He was the winner of the Milan Design Prize ( category: Curator and Critic in Design )

 

for his excellence on a global scale.
