Gaylord Chan 陈余生 ( 1925- 2020 ) was born in Hong Kong.
|
|
|
His family was native of Putian, Fujian Province China.
|

|
1968
|
Engineer in the Cable and Wireless telecommunications company,
|
| |
he started painting.
|
| |
|
|
1970
|
He graduated from the three-year program in Art and Design,
|
|
|
Hong Kong University ( Extra-mural Studies Department )
|
| |
|
|
1974
|
He was the co-founder of the Hong Kong Visual Arts Society and
|
| |
presided it during four years.
|
| |
|
|
1990
|
He was named Artist of the Year by the Hong Kong Artists Guild.
|
|
|
|
|
1995
|
He founded the Artmatch group and chaired it.
|
|
|
|
|
1997
|
He created a mural for the Hong Kong metro.
|
|
|
|
| |
His brightly colored works with abstract tendencies are exhibited
|
|
|
in Hong Kong and abroad.
|
| |
|
|
2020
|
He passed away at Kowloon’s St.Teresa’s Hospital at the age of 95.
