Dong Kingman 曾景文 ( 1911-2000 ) was born in Oakland, California United States.

The family returned to China. |

He took Art lessons.

He moved to San Francisco and began producing watercolors with the subject :

San Fancisco Bay. |
|
|
|

Recognized as one of the best watercolorist of the Bay, the San Francisco Museum

of Art, acquired a number of his works.

1942
|
Thanks to a Guggenheim fellowship, he travelled around the United-States, painting |

watercolors of american scene subjects and settled in New York.

His first Solo exhibition at Midtown Galleries New York was a success.

After the war, he taught Art in différents intitutions : Columbia University, Hunter

College and the Famous Artists school of Westport.

Hong Kong Dong received the Outstanding Achievement Award for Best Short Film

at the San Francisco International Film Festival.

2000
|
He passed away on May 12, in his home at Manhattan, at the age of 89.
