Zhan Wang 展望 was born on December 14, in Beijing China.

He studied at the Beijing Industrial Arts College.

He continued his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.

|
|
1988
|
He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Art ( Sculpture Department )
|

|
|
1995
|
Exploring Chinese culture and traditions, he became known internationally
|
|
|
with his Artificial Rocks series, stainless steel replicas of rocks found in Chinese
|
| |
gardens.
|
| |

1996
|
He graduated with a Master's degree in Art, from the C.A.F.A. Beijing.

Sculptures, installations, photographs, videos characterize him.

2005
|
After four and a half days of climbing, he reached Mount Everest, the highest peak

in the world, and he placed one of his sculptures.

His interest in stainless steel can be seen in his Urban Landscape series where
|
| |
the cities of Beijing, London, Chicago and San Francisco are made up of
|
| |
thousands of stainless steel kitchen ustensils and tableware.
|

2010/2012
|
Supported by Louis Vuitton, he started My Personal Universe :a project in which
|
| |
he imitated the process of the formation of the universe by blowing up a rock.
|
| |
The pieces are picked up and then recreated in stainless steel and rearranged
|
| |
according to the way they fell, with the video of the explosion of the rock in slow
|
|
|
motion in the background.
|
