Tang Zhigang 唐志冈 was born in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
|
|
|
He grew up in a military family.
|
|
|
|
|
|
After high school, he joined the the People's Liberation Army and he continued
|
| |
to paint expressionistic portraits.
|
|
1979
|
He was sent to Vietnam for combat-action.
|
|
|
|
|
1989
|
He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Art from the People's Liberation Army.

He began teaching at the Yunnan Art Academy, in Kunming.

|
|

1999

He created his Children in Meetings series, with children dressed as soldiers,

|
and as political leaders ( Criticism of the absurdity of bureaucracy ).

2005
|
He opened a studio in Beijing.

He withdrew from public life and moved to his hometown, in search of new

| |
inspirations. |

He exhibited for the first time his new paintings: Worldplay, at Hanart TZ gallery
